Under the patronage of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, Sidhwan Khurd, GHG Institute of Law organised an educational visit to the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Ludhiana on 30th October 2026,to provide students with practical knowledge of consumer rights and the functioning of consumer dispute redressal mechanisms.
The visit was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shweta Dhand. A group of 30 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Assistant Professor of Law.
During the visit, the President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Ludhiana, Shri Sanjeev Batra, addressed the students and acquainted them with the functioning of the Forum, the procedures involved in resolving consumer disputes, and the importance of protecting consumer rights. He also highlighted the role of consumer forums in providing justice to consumers and creating awareness about consumer protection laws.
The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to the judicial process and helped them understand the application of consumer protection laws beyond the classroom. It was an enriching learning experience that enhanced their legal knowledge and awareness of consumer dispute redressal mechanisms.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
