The N.S.S. Unit, Seminar Committee & Eco Club of G.H.G Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana has organised a seminar on “Eco- Paryavaran” to promote environmental awareness, sustainable development, and collective responsibility towards nature.
The programme was organised under the esteemed patronage of S. Birindar Singh Sidhu, IPS (Retd DGP), the Worthy President of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and Dr. Shweta Dhand, Officiating Principal, G H.G Institute of Law Sidhwan Khurd.
Prof. (Dr.) Parvinder, Director, Eco Paryavaran Engineers and Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and former Vice-Chancellor, of Lamrin Tech Skill University and Rayat Bahra University graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, GGDSD College, Chandigarh, and Member of the Administrator’s Advisory Council, UT Chandigarh (2025–2027), attended as the Guest of Honour.
The seminar opened with a formal welcome address by Officiating Principal Dr. Shweta Dhand, followed by addresses from the chief guest and the guest of honour.
Both distinguished guests addressed the gathering on the theme of “Eco- Paryavaran.” They emphasised that environmental protection is not merely the responsibility of governments and organisations but a moral duty of every individual. They highlighted the need to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution and adopt environmentally responsible practices in everyday life. The speakers also highlighted the landmark M.C. Mehta environmental Judgments and their significant role in shaping environmental jurisprudence in India.
The Organising Committee of this Seminar comprising Dr. Harvinder Kaur ( Associate Professor in Laws), Ms. Baljit Kaur( Assistant Professor in Laws), Dr. Jaspal Kaur ( Assistant Professor in Laws) and Dr. Jasbir Kaur ( Assistant Professor in Laws). The stage was coordinated by Ms. Kriti Garg, (Assistant Professor in Laws.) The Seminar encouraged everyone to recognise environmental protection as both a legal responsibility and a moral commitment towards present and future generations.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
