Topic : Artificial Intelligence: A Bane or Boon for Employment?

G.H.G. Institute of Law organised a Debate Competition on the topic “Artificial Intelligence: A Bane or Boon for Employment?” on 15 September 2026 under the aegis of SGHG Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shweta Dhand, Officiating Principal.
The competition was organised with the objective of providing students with an academic platform to express their views and critically analyse the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on employment and the future of work.
The performances were evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Dr. Manjyot Kaur, Associate Professor, History; Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Assistant Professor, Law; and Ms. Mehak Gupta, Assistant Professor, Law. The participants were assessed on the basis of their confidence, flow and relevancy of ideas, clarity of expression, and overall performance.
Pranika Jain and Paneet Kaur performed the duties of Stage Coordinators and ensured the smooth and systematic conduct of the stage proceedings.

The winners were appreciated and felicitated for their commendable performances. The competition proved to be an enriching academic activity that encouraged students to develop critical thinking, confidence, public speaking skills, and awareness of contemporary technological and employment-related issues.
At the conclusion of the programme, Prof. (Dr.) Shweta Dhand, Officiating Principal, extended the vote of thanks. She remarked that the programme had been organised in a beautiful, systematic, and well-coordinated manner and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students.
