Under the able guidance of Dr. Shweta Dhand (Officiating Principal) the IQAC of GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana organized an Intra-Mediation Competition on 25th March, 2026.The primary objective of the competition was to acquaint participants with the concept, significance, and procedure of mediation as an effective Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism. To facilitate this, an Orientation Programme was conducted on 16th March, 2026.
The programme also aimed at enhancing students’ communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, which are essential for effective mediation. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, cooperation, and constructive dialogue throughout the mediation process.The clients were provided with the main proposition on 22nd March, 2026. On the day of the competition, i.e., 25th March, 2026, they received their confidential information at 10:30 AM and were informed of the party they would represent through a fair and transparent draw of lots.The mediators were also given their propositions on 25th March, 2026 at 10:30 AM. They were not provided with any confidential information relating to the clients, thereby ensuring neutrality in the proceedings.
The competition was adjudged by Dr. Neelam (Associate Professor in Laws), Dr. Harvinder Kaur (Associate Professor in Laws), and Dr. Jaspal Kaur (Assistant Professor in Laws).

The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
