G.H.G. Institute of Law is one of the five educational institutions run by Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust. The foundation stone of G.H.G Institute of Law was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. The institute is accredited with CGPA of 2.43 by NAAC in 2021. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It started to impart legal education to girl students for LL.B, (3 years) course and B.A.LL.B. (Hons) five years integrated course since the session 2006-07.
The Institute decided to impart legal education as a coeducational institute from 2020. Then with the approval of various stake holders viz-a-viz the students, their parents, villagers and our worthy trust members, Panjab University Chandigarh granted affiliation to the Institute as a co-educational Institute in April 2022. G.H.G Institute of Law is located in a rural, pollution free, lush green and serene environment under the Jagraon Tehsil at the side of Ludhiana – Ferozepur National Highway. It is easily approachable as it is only 28 kms. from Ludhiana and 8 kms from Jagraon. Our institute provides best facilities to the students. It has a magnificent two storied building, comprehensive spacious, ventilated and well-furnished Class Rooms with ample natural light, sports facilities (Gymnasium), grounds and other facilities like Seminar Hall, Moot Court Hall, Legal Aid Clinic, Legal Literacy Club, Computer Lab with open access wi-fi facility, Enriched Library with E-resources, Hostel for girls, Gurudwara Sahib, Staff Room, Washrooms, Administrative office, Hygienic Cafeteria, and Principal’s residence are in the campus and all are optimally utilized. The campus of the institute is under CCTV surveillance along with other security arrangements.
Students of the institute never fail to make the institution proud through the excellent academic records by occupying top positions in Panjab University examinations. The institution also organizes various extra curricular activities for students, staff as well as community.
Students are trained to make optimum use of computer facility to supplement their teaching learning i.e. Power point presentation, Research work, Assignments and Projects. Computer Lab opens during the college hours. Students can access the Labs in their free periods or during break. Faculty members demonstrate the use of technological resources by using it themselves and further students are also motivated to use these resources. As regards the faculty members of our institute, we have well-qualified, experienced, dedicated and hard working faculty members, including 10 UGC (NET) qualified having 08 PhD.& 05 pursuing Ph.D, 01 M. Phil. research work under different universities of the state.
