An awareness seminar on the occasion of International Women’s Day was organized on 9.3.2026 at GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd by the Legal Aid Cell and NSS Unit of the institute in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ludhiana. The seminar was conducted in compliance with the directions of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and the Directorate of Youth Services, Punjab.The seminar was held in the Seminar Hall of the institute where students and faculty members participated enthusiastically. The resource persons deputed by DLSA, Ludhiana, Adv. Sahil Tandon and Ms. Jasvir Kaur (Para Legal Volunteer) addressed the students and highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day. They sensitized the students about women’s rights, legal safeguards available for women, and the role of society in ensuring gender equality and empowerment.During the session, the speakers elaborated upon various legal provisions meant for the protection and welfare of women and encouraged students to spread awareness about these rights among the masses. The seminar proved to be highly informative and interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions.The programme was coordinated by the Legal Aid Cell and NSS Unit under the guidance of Officiating Principal Prof. Dr. Shweta Dhand. Dr. Jaswinder, Associate Professor in Laws, and Dr. Jaspal Kaur, Assistant Professor in Laws, served as Faculty Incharges. Faculty members and students appreciated the initiative taken by DLSA, Ludhiana, in creating awareness regarding women’s rights and legal empowerment.The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource persons and the District Legal Services Authority for their continuous efforts in promoting legal awareness among youth.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
