G.H.G. Institute of Law, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Shweta Dhand and in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ludhiana, organized a Nukkad Natak on 21st Nov 2025 in Village Gagra to raise awareness about drug abuse and the impact of social media on youth. The event was conducted by the NSS Unit and Legal Aid Clinic of the institute.
A team of 21 BA LLB (9th Semester) students, guided by faculty members Dr. Jaswinder, Dr. Jaspal Kaur, and Ms. Charu Joshi, presented the street play. With support from the village Panchayat, Advocate Pralad Singh, the event saw strong participation from the local community.
The play highlighted the dangers of drug addiction, its social and legal consequences, and the responsible use of social media. Villagers appreciated the realistic performance and engaged actively in discussions afterward.
Principal Dr. Shweta Dhand commended the students and faculty for their efforts and expressed gratitude to DLSA Ludhiana and the Panchayat of Village Gagra for their cooperation. The institute reaffirmed its commitment to continuing community awareness and legal literacy initiatives.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
