The Department of Youth and Welfare, Government of Punjab, organized a Drug Awareness Rally to educate the public about the dangers of substance abuse and promote a drug-free society. The rally witnessed active participation from 50 students of the NSS unit of GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, along with Associate Professor Dr. Jaswinder (Vice Principal) and Assistant Professor Dr. Jaspal Kaur (NSS Program Officer) under the guidance of Officiating Principal Dr. Shweta Dhand.
The event aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction, particularly among the youth, and to encourage a healthy and responsible lifestyle. Participants marched through key areas, holding placards and banners with impactful messages against drug abuse. They also engaged with the local community, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to eradicate this social evil.
Addressing the rally, Hon’ble CM S. Bhagwant Singh Maan highlighted the responsibility of educational institutions in shaping a drug-free future and commended the students for their enthusiastic participation. Sh. Arvind Kejriwal (Former CM Delhi) reinforced the importance of awareness campaigns and social initiatives in combating the rising menace of drug addiction. Sh. Parveen Goyal, Coordinator NSS, Panjab University, Chandigarh was also present in the rally.
The rally concluded with a pledge by all participants to work towards a drug-free Punjab. The initiative was well received by the local community and served as a reminder of the urgent need for societal action against substance abuse.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
