An educational tour to Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur was conducted under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Shweta Dhand and Vice Principal Dr. Jaswinder in which 46 students from B.A.LL.B. 10th, 8th and 6th Sem and LL.B 6th, 4th and 1st Sem visited Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur on March 05, 2025.
In-charge of this Educational Tour were Assistant Professors Dr. Jaspal Kaur, Dr. Neelam Rani and Ms. Neha Minocha.
Mr. Shamsher Saddiqui, Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur was the coordinator of this educational trip welcomed teachers and students. The tour started with the introduction of various traffic rules by the Sub Inspector of Punjab Traffic Police. He said that ignoring traffic rules is a direct invitation to death.
The students next visited the Finger Print Bureau which has been functioning since 1894 and is the second oldest Bureau in the country. Finger print expert Mr. Munish Kumar explained every aspect of taking finger prints. which includes a practical demonstration of raising fingerprints from various articles and the fingerprint filling of the accused.
After this the Forensic Science Laboratory was visited. It was conducted by Mrs. Gagandeep Kaur and a drug expert. She told that various tool kits, forensic medicine and forensic science related things were used during the investigation. AShe also talked about the investigation conducted by forensic experts before and after the death. Drug expert gave information about different drugs and how they are used by criminals.
Finally visited the Information Technology Wing, in which IT expert Mr. Gurminder Singh ji Gave detailed information about the steps taken for cyber security in the modern era. He also gave information about various courses being conducted for police forces.
The foundation stone of the college was laid down by Padam Bhushan Prof.(Dr.) Khem Singh Gill, former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on Nineteenth day of December, 2005. This institute is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
